la capitale de l\u2019\u00eele grecque de <em>C\u00e9phalonie<\/em> depuis&nbsp;1757, ainsi que celle du district&nbsp;r\u00e9gional et du d\u00e8me du m\u00eame&nbsp;nom.<br \/>\nAvant 1757, la forteresse v\u00e9nitienne de <em>San&nbsp;Giorgio<\/em> dans le village d&rsquo;<em>\u00c1sos<\/em> avait fourni un refuge contre les pirates pendant des si\u00e8cles.<br \/>\nLorsque la menace des pirates diminua, la population commen\u00e7a \u00e0 descendre vers <strong>Argost\u00f3lion<\/strong>, afin de tirer parti des possibilit\u00e9s commerciales offertes par la baie abrit\u00e9e.<br \/>\nComme <strong>Argost\u00f3lion<\/strong> commen\u00e7ait \u00e0 prosp\u00e9rer les habitants ont demand\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019administration v\u00e9nitienne de faire de la ville la capitale de l&rsquo;\u00eele et,<br \/>\nau grand d\u00e9pit de son rival de toujours, <em>Lixo\u00fari<\/em>, cette demande a \u00e9t\u00e9 accord\u00e9e en&nbsp;1757.<br \/>\n<strong>Argost\u00f3lion<\/strong> prosp\u00e9ra et devint l&rsquo;un des ports les plus actifs des \u00eeles grecques avec l&rsquo;exportation de raisins secs<br \/>\net l&rsquo;importation de v\u00eatements et de meubles italiens.<br \/>\nSa population est approximativement de 13,000&nbsp;habitants.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section
